Coronavirus cases on rising in Maharashtra: The possibility of the arrival of the third wave of coronavirus seems to be intensifying in the state of Maharashtra. The reason for this is the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the state. In fact, the state government of Maharashtra has identified 7 such cities on Sunday were the cases of coronavirus are increasing rapidly. 

The government says that these 7 districts can become the cause of the third wave of coronavirus in Maharashtra state. On Sunday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, where the current situation of coronavirus in the state was discussed, after which Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Pradeep Vyas attended the meeting. Let us inform you that for the last 10 days, there has been no decline in the cases of coronavirus in the state and especially in all these districts. Whereas, there has been a slight increase in the number of coronae infected. These districts have been called 'Districts of Concern' by the state government, which includes the names of these cities-


  • Pune, Ahmednagar
  • Satara, Solapur, Sangli
  • Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg


During the meeting, it was learned that even though the corona positivity rate (weekly) in the state of Maharashtra has remained below 5 percent for several weeks. Whereas, in the first week of September, the positivity rate was found to be 6.58 percent in Pune and 5.08 percent in Ahmednagar. 

At the same time, the state capital Mumbai is included in the 5 cities where cases of corona infection are being found the most. According to the information received, out of 52,025 active cases in the state, 90.61% of cases have been found in only 10 districts, which include cities like Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Satara.
